Important things from the Gamebit team.
Welcome to Magical Panda Games!
Hi All,
Well, like I said in the previous post, Gamebit has undergone some re-branding. Alas, Gamebit is no more, but step forward Magical Panda Games. With this new look, we have a new attitude towards video games blogging. We believe that game reviews should be honest and written by gamers, not journos. We believe that Podcasts should be entertaining to listen to but still informative. Lastly, we believe that you, the gaming community, deserve interaction with the entire Magical Panda format. So, if you wish to have your questions answered or topics discussed on the very first Magical Panda Podcast (Coming soon), please e-mail us at contact@magicalpanda.net.
Gamebit may have gone, but don’t threat, this site still has all the archived goodness that you enjoyed from Gamebit. Simply use the search bar to the right.
Thanks for all your support in this transition. Until next time!

Editor-in-Chief

A Quick Update
Well, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on here, so I thought it’s about time I explained what’s going on.
Christmas has been a hectic period for me, what with working endless hours and trying to finish University assignments, I haven’t had a great deal of time to submit any articles on here. However, not all is lost. Due to working bank holidays and my new friends over at PartyPoker.com, Gamebit will have some new equipment to use on future Podcasts. That means no more Shy Ronnie and ear-bleeding BOOMS! Well, maybe I lied a little, I may still shout for no apparent reason.
Anyway, keep checking the website for new reviews, articles and eventually a brand-spanking new Podcast.

A Very Merry Gamebit Christmas

On behalf of the Gamebit team, I’d like to wish you and yours a very merry Christmas. I hope your peeps stuff their faces with as much turkey as the Gamebit team will be doing this festive season.
On a similar note, I’d like to thank you all for supporting Gamebit in the six months since our launch. Gamebit has gone from strength to strength since our launch on June 20th, 2011, and we couldn’t have done it without you, the readers and listeners.
Gamebit’s now on a (very brief) Christmas break: Normal service will resume on December 27th, with a Podcast coming soon (we promise).
Thanks for reading, and I hope you can join us in 2012.

That’s right, the Gamebit Podcast is now available on a brand new radio app called Stitcher!
What does this mean?
It means that the Podcast is more widely available and easier to access on all different kinds of Smartphones.
What is Stitcher?
In the words of Stitcher themselves: ‘ Stitcher allows you to listen to your favorite shows directly from your iPhone, Android Phone, BlackBerry or webOS phone, on-demand and on the go!’
Where can I get Stitcher?
Don’t have Stitcher? Download it for free today at Stitcher.com or in the app stores.
Where the devil is the Gamebit Podcast on Stitcher?
Just search for “Gamebit” whilst in the app, or go here.
Gamebit at Eurogamer Expo
As you probably well know, the Eurogamer Expo starts this Thursday (22nd September). A while back we managed to secure Press Passes for all four days of the Expo. Although I do have tickets for all four days, I will definitely be attending Thursday and Friday. On the Friday, I will be accompanied by my little brother and future Gamebit video editor, Joshua Lavery (@JoshuaLavery) and my older brother, Dan (@brodannic). Unfortunately, due to educational commitments, Avery “hates cake” Penn can’t attend (Read: School won’t let me and I hate their guts for it – AP), but he will be drafting up a Podcast ready for when I get back. If you are attending any of the days, look out for me and say a quick hello.
Anyway, now the logistics have been explained, hit the break and I will move on to what can be played on the Show Floor of the Eurogamer Expo: Read the rest of this entry
Prepare for an all-nighter – We’re liveblogging Nintendo’s 3DS Press Conference this Tuesday at 2AM BST!
This is a bit of an odd one. In a prelude to the Tokyo Game Show, where bitter rivals Sony will be announcing 18 new titles for the not-even-released-yet PlayStation Vita, Nintendo has called members of the press and analysts to a conference in Tokyo, where it’s rumoured they’ll announce a new version of the Nintendo 3DS – perhaps with another analog nub, a lesser emphasis on glasses-free 3D and even a new name.
So, just what has Nintendo President Satoru Iwata got up his sleeve? You’ll be able to find out live, as our ever-reliable, ever-caffeinated Editor-in-Chief Alex Matless (and possibly yours truly) stays up into the early hours to cover the press conference live. Let’s just hope the UStream audio is in English, eh?

Gamebit Housekeeping: Apologies, Updates and Returns
Hello there! I thought it would be best to kick off Gamebit’s return to standard form by updating you all on a few things.
Apologies
Firstly, I’d like to sincerely apologise for our lack of content beyond sporadic updates on Gamebit’s new office (more on that in the next paragraph). At Gamebit, content is king, and we admit that we’ve dropped the ball for the last couple of weeks. Starting this weekend, we’re going to be publishing the content our contributors have been working on for the last week or so, and we should be back to normal by the middle of next week. If you’ve been holding on for new content, thank you so much for your patience, and apologies for having to wait so long.
Gamebit Moves In
Today, after two weeks of wallpaper stripping, painting, wallpapering and heavy lifting, Gamebit’s editor-in-chief, the impeccable Alex Matless, and his awesome girlfriend (who we’ve thanked many times in Podcasts) have moved into their new home. The study in this new place is officially Gamebit Towers, and is being given a shot of the old décor (Items debated this week included Godzilla curtains, Aperture Science posters and a framed photo of either Kevin Butler or Jack Tretton). Expect to see final pictures on Gamebit’s Facebook page very soon – go like it, folks.
We’re back!
With the moving of Gamebit Towers finally complete, it gives me great pleasure to announce the return of the now very delayed Gamebit Podcast: we’re recording this Tuesday (that’s September 6th, for those keeping score), and, as I start school again the very next day, you can expect it to be up late in the evening on the same day. iTunes and RSS subscribers, stay tuned.
I should also add that our Expo Season coverage has been somewhat underwhelming; again, this is part of the aforementioned ball-dropping, and will be returning to normal very, very soon. Most of what we talk about in the podcast will be Expo Season related, though we won’t be heavily touching on PAX. For that, I recommend you take the time out to read noted American Gamebit interviewee Sam Machkovech’s whopping 3,600-word write-up on America’s biggest community-powered gaming expo. We’ll have more announcements involving future coverage of Expo Season-related content in the latest Podcast.
A thousand thank yous
At its core, Gamebit is comprised of two things: its content, which Alex, Chris, James, Josh, Tom, Simon (he’s new, by the way) and myself take pride in, and its readers – you, basically. Without you, this whole thing really wouldn’t have much of a point. I won’t bore you with metrics, but Gamebit is growing steadily, and we can’t thank you enough. As we venture into Autumn, I hope you’ll find our content interesting, engaging, and, more importantly, entertaining.
Thank you all for making the team’s crazy two-month ride worthwile. As we move forward, we promise we won’t let you down.
